Election campaign signs and decorations to be phased out in WA as part of ban on single

Temporary bunting — a prominent fixture of election campaigns — will be banned in WA as the Cook Government continues progressively phasing out single-use plastics.

The signs and decorations are typically plastered all over schools and other voting centres by political parties on the day of elections, with Environment Minister Reece Whitby revealing that about 50km of the material was used in WA during the May 2022 Federal election alone.
