Pokémon TCG: All 15 McDonald’s Promo 2023 Cards

Jun 11, 2023

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is having another promotion at McDonald's, where Happy Meals will include a special booster card pack and toy.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is having another promotional event with McDonald's soon, with chances for 15 different Pokémon cards, and six of them can even be special holofoil cards. No date has been revealed yet for when the cards will begin to be distributed in Happy Meals in the United States, but they have already been seen in some locations in Germany, and the UK could be seeing them show up on August 23, 2023. The set is made up of 15 reprinted cards, with all except Pikachu coming from the Scarlet and Violet sets.

This is certainly not the first time that Pokémon TCG has had promotional cards available in McDonald's Happy Meals. Unfortunately, though the Happy Meals are targeted to try to bring the game into the hands of a younger generation, often these cards can become difficult to obtain due to the surge of adults who also want to get their hands on the top cards from the set. The cards listed below come with every Happy Meal as a pack with four cards, one of which should be a holofoil, along with a Match & Battle toy.

Part of the Pokémon TCG 2023 McDonald's promo set as revealed by PokéBeach, Kirlia is a Psychic-type Pokémon who is listed as card number 015/015. This Kirlia card is a reprint of the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet card 085/198. Its Pokédex entry comes from the video game Pokémon Scarlet.

The Pokémon TCG Cyclizar card for the McDonald's promotional event is card number 014/015. It is a reprint of a Rare card of the Scarlet and Violet, card 164/198, and is a Basic-type Pokémon. Cyclizar became a huge hit in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games where it was introduced, because of the fun ability to see it used as a motorcycle for characters in the game.

Card 013/015 of the Pokémon TCG promotional set for McDonald's in 2023 is the Tandemaus card. Tandemaus is an interesting Pokémon because it is actually two creatures that never leave each other's side, no matter what. This card is a reprint of Scarlet and Violet 160/198 of the Basic-type Pokémon.

The Blissey portrayed in this card shows it as a Busybody Nurse who is able to heal other Pokémon from Special Conditions. The Pokémon TCG 2023 promotional card of Basic-type Blissey for McDonald's Happy Meals is number 012/015 and is a reprint of the Scarlet and Violet card 145/198.

Klawf is card 011/015 for the McDonald's promotional set of Pokémon TCG cards and is a Fighting-type creature. This reprint is of the Scarlet and Violet Rare card 122/198 and has the Adrenaline Hammer ability that causes itself to become Confused, but deals a considerable amount of damage in the process. Klawf is one of the six cards which will be featured as a holofoil card with a new foil border for 2023.

Another Fighting-type Pokémon, Sandaconda is listed as card 010/015 for the Pokémon TCG promotional card set for McDonald's in 2023. Its descriptive text states that it can blast out sand "with enough force to wash away a dump truck." This card is a reprint of the Uncommon card 120/198 of the Scarlet and Violet.

The adorable little Flittle is a cute Psychic-type Pokémon that doesn't really have much substance to it in battle but is still a fun card to have. For the Pokémon TCG McDonald's promo, Flittle is card number 009/015 and is a repeat of the Common card from Scarlet and Violet, number 100/198.

Card 008/015 of the McDonald's promotional cards for Pokémon TCG is the Kilowattrel. Kilowattrel is a Lightning-type that evolves from the similarly-named Wattrel. This card is a reprint of the Scarlet and Violet card 079/198.

Pawmi was introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and is generally seen as an adorable addition to the many Pikachu clones in the Pokédex. In the McDonald's Happy Meal promotion for Pokémon TCG, Pawmi is 007/015. This card is a reprint of the Common card from the Scarlet and Violet set, card number 074/198.

The Pokémon mascot, Pikachu, is McDonald's promotional card 006/015 and is the only card to not be from the Scarlet and Violet set. This adorable Pikachu is a reprint from the Paldea Evolved set and shows the Electric-type in a bright and cheerful artwork. Each Happy Meal will also come in a special Pikachu Happy Meal box that looks like Pikachu's head.

Cetitan, card number 005/015, is another of the Pokémon TCG promotional cards with McDonald's that has the benefit of being holofoil with the new foil borders. This Pokémon evolves from Cetoddle and is a reprint of the Scarlet and Violet Uncommon card 060/198.

Despite the snowy, frozen look, Cetoddle is a Water-type Pokémon who lives in frigid regions. This card is number 004/015 of the McDonald's 2023 promotional set for Pokémon TCG and is a reprint of the Common Scarlet and Violet card 059/198.

One of the adorable starter options of Pokémon in Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet, Quaxly is an adorable Water-type with perfectly styled hair. Quaxly is one of the holofoil cards in the 2023 McDonald's promotional set and is card number 003/015 of that group. This card is a reprint of the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet and Violet Common card number 52/198.

Fire-type Fuecoco is another of the starter Pokémon from the video game Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and is also one of the chosen cards to be a holofoil for the Pokémon TCG's 2023 McDonald's promo sets. This Fuecoco card is a reprint of card number 36/198 of the Scarlet and Violet set.

Pokémon TCG's Sprigatito is McDonald's promotional card 001/015 and is available as a holofoil card with a border. This cheerful Grass-type feline was the other starter option in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video game and is shown in this illustration looking excited and ready to play. This card is a reprint of the Common card number 013/198 of the Scarlet and Violet base set.

In the past years, this Pokémon TCG promotional event of including booster packs in Happy Meals has begun in the United States sometime in August. Although dates are still unknown, it is expected that this year will follow the same lines, particularly with other countries beginning around this same time as well. Although many Pokémon fans will be flocking to McDonald's for these items, hopefully it can help to introduce more kids to the Pokémon Trading Card Game as well.
