Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Promotional Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's soccer team has announced its promotional schedule and theme games for the 2023 season.

To kick off the fall against St. John's on Monday, Aug. 28 (7:30 p.m.), the Scarlet Knights will celebrate their Youth Soccer Kickoff. There will be multiple promotions including free ice cream for the first 100 kids wearing their youth soccer team apparel, pictures with the Big Ten Tournament trophy and postgame autographs with the team.

For RU's next home game on Monday, Sept. 4 versus Saint Peter's (7 p.m.), the team will celebrate its student section, the Cavalry, with recognition throughout the night and $1 hotdogs. In its final nonconference home match of the campaign, Rutgers will take on Columbia, Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. and host its Mental Health Awareness match and celebrate International Student Night with a tailgate.

In their Big Ten opener, the Scarlet Knights will welcome Michigan State to town on Sunday, Sept. 17 for a 2 p.m. Senior Day Scarlet Out. Everyone is encouraged to wear Scarlet to the game. The team will also welcome the Kids Club, giving out pins and celebrating with a high five line.

On Friday, Sept. 29 against Ohio State (7 p.m.), RU will host Friday Night Lights: Rutgers Soccer. The squad will celebrate New Jersey Youth Soccer Night as well, welcoming back kids from around the state.

In its second Friday night game of the slate on Oct. 13, Rutgers will go up against Wisconsin (6 p.m.) for its Alumni game. In addition to welcoming back alumni from multiple generations, the team is encouraging everyone to wear black for a Black Out of Yurcak Field. The Scarlet Knights will once again honor New Jersey Youth Soccer during the contest and give out Rutgers Soccer thunder sticks.

Finally, to wrap up the home portion of the schedule, RU will host Penn State at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The game will boast another $1 hotdog night.
