A Discovery of Witches gets streaming home throughout September

For a limited time only.

A Discovery of Witches has found a streaming home in the US in an unusual arrangement between Warner Bros and AMC Networks.

The fantasy series starring Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode will be available to viewers based in the US for a limited time. Between September 1 and October 31, a few of AMC's series will be hosted on HBO's streaming platform MAX on both the ad-free and ad-lite services for no extra cost.

Alongside three seasons of A Discovery of Witches, Max's catalogue will also temporarily include seasons one to seven of Fear the Walking Dead, four seasons of Killing Eve, season one of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire, two seasons of Gangs of London, season one of Dark Winds, and five seasons of Ride with Norman Reedus.

These shows will be part of the AMC+ Picks on Max and will not include advertising. According to Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav, bundling is the way forward for streaming services in an effort to attract more subscribers.

AMC Networks' president of entertainment and AMC Studios, Dan McDermott, echoed Zaslav's feelings when discussing the newly trialled digital arrangement (via Deadline).

"AMC Networks makes great shows, and our goal is to bring these shows to as many people as possible, in ways that best serve viewers," he said.

"This promotional arrangement with Warner Bros Discovery is a terrific opportunity to serve up some of our most popular and critically acclaimed programming to millions of Max subscribers in the US for two full months."

"Subscribers turn to Max to find a deep and diverse selection of stories for the whole household," added Warner Bros Discovery's EVP for global streaming content strategy, Meredith Gertler.

"The AMC+ collection pop up is an excellent example of how we can use innovative strategies to add value to our content offering."

All seasons of A Discovery of Witches will be available to stream on Max from September 1 through October 31. In the UK, the series airs on Sky Max and NOW.
